What type of CBD do you use in your tinctures?
We only use CBD isolate in our products. Our unflavored tincture consists of only two ingredients – CBD isolate and Organic MCT oil. Our flavored tinctures consist of CBD isolate, Organic MCT Oil, Sunflower Oil and Natural Flavors. *Allergen warning: MCT oil contains coconut.
Our CBD Body Butter only contains minimal ingredients as well: CBD isolate, shea butter, coconut oil, cacao butter, grapeseed oil, peppermint essential oil and vanilla planifolia extract.
What are the benefits of using CBD isolate over other forms of CBD?
CBD Isolate is flavorless, odorless, and colorless and can easily be added to food, drinks, etc. We offer several flavors, and because isolate is naturally flavorless your tincture will taste solely like the flavor you choose and have no hemp taste, whereas broad spectrum and full spectrum CBD often tastes like hemp.
CBD isolate contains zero THC. While many CBD oils, particularly full-spectrum products, contain trace amounts of THC, they may still trigger a positive drug test. If you are at risk for random drug testing you may want to use CBD isolate as it is entirely devoid of THC.
What are the benefits of CBD Oil?
We cannot make specific claims for CBD and its medical benefits; however, our customers have successfully used our CBD Oil to help with stress, pain, inflammation, anxiety, sleep, digestive issues, migraines, and more.
How do I take CBD Oil and at what dosage?
At Big Island Apothecary, our customers’ safety is of utmost priority. First, before adding CBD oil to your regimen, as with any supplement, be sure to check with your doctor and make sure using CBD is a good choice for you. All of our tinctures come with graduated droppers so patient dosing is accurate and consistent.
For those new to CBD, we recommend starting out by micro-dosing, or taking or administering a very small amount in order to test the benefits. For example, start with a half dropper a day, and see how you feel. After about a week if you see no changes, you can increase to one dropper a day, and so on. We recommend no more than two droppers (2 mL) a day, but all dosing should be consulted with your doctor.
You can take CBD in many ways. Sublingually (under the tongue) is an option, just measure out the oil using the graduated dropper, place the oil under your tongue, allowing it to stay there for a few seconds before swallowing. You can also add the oil to drinks such as coffee or shakes, or even add it to your food.
CBD oil can have many benefits especially when used on a consistent, typically daily, basis. You may not see the benefits you are looking for if taken inconsistently. CBD works by stimulating our endocannabinoid systems – but all of our systems are different. Someone may start to feel the benefits of CBD after a week of consistent use, while others it may take several weeks.
What are the benefits of CBD Body Butter?
We cannot make specific claims for CBD and its medical benefits; however, our customers have successfully applied a small amount of our CBD Body Butter to the desired area to help relieve inflammation, joint and muscle paint, aches/pains, sciatica, headaches, and more.
What kind of tests do you run on your product?
All of our batches are voluntarily third-party lab tested for pesticides, heavy metals, microbial impurities and residual solvents. The testing is not required, and rare to find on the shelves, but at Big Island Apothecary we value our customers’ safety above all else. Each product has a QR code on the packaging, which corresponds to a Certificate of Analysis that can be accessed on our website.
What is your return policy?
At Big Island Apothecary, we know you have a choice when it comes to buying CBD oil and we want our customers to not only be satisfied with our product, but so happy with it that they refer others. After all, referrals are the backbone of any family-owned and operated business. However, CBD works differently for different people and we cannot guarantee any benefits/results. About CBD
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid compound that is naturally found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Our CBD is derived from hemp grown and extracted in the United States. Hemp is defined as a Cannabis sativa plant that contains < 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Hemp and hemp derivatives are officially legal in all 50 states after the federal government passed what is known as the “2018 Hemp Farm Bill”.
Over the last several years, many scientific studies have found possible health benefits of CBD! CBD works in our bodies by interacting with a bodily system that all mammals have known as the Endocannabinoid System. The Endocannabinoid System’s function is hypothesized to create a “homeostasis” throughout the body. It is for this reason that CBD has the potential to have so many different health benefits.
Big Island Apothecary only offers CBD that has been lab tested by a fully licensed and nationally accredited laboratory. We voluntarily lab test our products to ensure that there are no heavy metals, pesticides, residual solvents, or molds that could potentially cause harm rather than help overall wellness. Our customers’ safety and satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us. We offer a QR code right on our packaging so patients have the opportunity to view our test results before they purchase a bottle. We hope you choose Big Island Apothecary’s CBD products to help you on your path to wellness!
